The migration to green energy and to innovative disposal of solid waste has emerged due to global problems such as fossil fuels scarcity, climate change, and environmental pollution. The production of eco-friendly biofuels from residual fatty materials as feedstock is a brand-new solution for waste management and energy generation. In this work, biofuels were made from 3 different fatty wastes (from the fat trap of a sewage station, lard waste, and frying oil) and showed physical and chemical properties analogous to petroleum diesel. Recovery of energy from waste is a core part of a circular economy and the investment in long-term biofuel synthesis could impact positively the global economy and the environment.
